I have done many Super Clean (lead dust cleaning) jobs over the past 5 years. During this time, I have used an assortment of hepavacs approved for the cleaning of lead dust.
One of my favorites is the Euroclean. It is a very durable and sturdy machine. You can stand on it. You can drag it around without having to worry about it breaking if it bumps into anything. You can even drag it by the hose, as many people do anyway, without any problem. The hose is very sturdy and doesn’t come apart.
The machine is more powerful then some that are twice its size, and it’s more economical to buy and maintain, because the bags are very inexpensive and last a long time. It’s designed well with the exhaust coming out all around the entire machine causing less wind force to disturb existing lead dust. It has a very easy on/off switch that you just tap with your foot. It also can stand on its side, making it narrower to use on stairs.
It has warning labels that explain who should not use it, and why. The entire top of the machine is a hepa filter. The replacement filter is about $100 depending on where you buy it.
The only concern I worry about is the paper bag, but the bag is very durable and I have never had one tear, even when wet.
